When you think of a perfect summer evening, what comes to mind? Warm weather, a juicy burger, a cold craft beer, and good company. Now imagine all of that wrapped into one event — and for a good cause.

Join us Wednesday, June 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at SilverStar Brewing in downtown Vernon for our Burgers & Beer Food Security Fundraiser. Tickets are just $35 and include a handcrafted burger and a 14oz SilverStar Brewing craft beer.

But this night is about more than just great food and fun — it’s about feeding our community and offering dignity and hope to those who need it most.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

At the Upper Room Mission, our Food Security Program feeds between 80 to 110 people every single day, providing over 37,552 meals annually to individuals experiencing hunger, poverty, and homelessness in our community.

Each meal we serve is more than food — it’s a doorway to critical supports that help people move forward. When someone walks through our doors for a meal, they also gain access to:

Clothing – Over 2,180 outfits distributed to those in need
Laundry – 680 loads of laundry done in a safe, supportive space
Showers – Over 2,400 showers providing hygiene and dignity
Shelter – 122 individuals accessed the Mat Program (November to March), offering a safe place to sleep during the coldest months

Through strong partnerships with local grocery stores and food suppliers, we also divert over 45,743 pounds of food annually from landfills, transforming surplus into sustenance and sustainability.

Your Dollars Make a Real Difference

On average, it costs us just $4 to provide a nutritious meal. That means:

$100 = 25 people fed
