The gift of Blessing Backpacks
The holiday season is upon us, and we couldn’t be more excited! At the Upper Room Mission, Christmas is a time to share love, hope, and care with those who need it most. One of our cherished traditions is the gift of Blessing Backpacks – thoughtful packages filled with essentials and small joys for our guests.
For many, especially those who are unsheltered, this is the only gift they’ll receive this Christmas. These backpacks are more than just items; they’re a message from our community that says, “You are seen, you are valued, and you are loved.”
This year, we need your help to make it happen!
We’re seeking donations of backpacks for both men and women. You can donate:
- A backpack (empty, ready to be filled)
- The contents for a backpack (see the list below)
- Or go the extra mile and donate a fully packed Blessing Backpack!
If you’re donating a complete backpack, please label it clearly as male or female to ensure it goes to the right recipient.
Not sure what to include? Here’s a list of items that would make a huge difference in someone’s life this Christmas:
- Deodorant
- Soap
- Washcloth
- Towel
- Toothbrush
- Toothbrush Holder
- Toothpaste
- Comb
- Kleenex
- Pair of warm socks
- Shaving Razor
- Shaving Cream
- Toque
- Mitts
- Scarf
- Nail Clippers

Help us make Christmas special.
Together, let’s make this season one of hope, generosity, and transformation. Thank you for being a blessing to those in need! We will be collecting backpacks until December 16th. You can drop off your gifts at our location on 3403 27th Ave. Just come in and talk to one of our staff members. All blessing backpacks will be given to our guests on December 20th from 2 – 4:30 pm.
