Donate Blessing Backpacks for Christmas 2023

Blessings in a backpack for Christimas in Vernon

We are getting ready for Christmas, and we are excited! We are hoping you can partner with us during the Christmas giving season. At the Upper Room Mission, we have an annual tradition to give out backpacks to our guests as a gift from our community. We call them blessing backpacks.

These backpacks mean so much to our guests, especially those who are unsheltered. These are the only gift some receive this Christmas.

We are looking for backpack donations for males and females for Christmas. You can just donate a backpack or the goodies (see list below) for a backpack or both. If you are providing a full backpack, would you mind labelling the backpacks you are donating (male or female)?

Wondering what to include in a backpack? Explore the following list of things that could be included in your backpack.

  • Deodorant
  • Soap
  • Washcloth
  • Towel
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothbrush Holder
  • Toothpaste

Thank you so much! I received a blessings backpack a couple of years ago and it really meant the world to me. I was going through a rough time and I still remember going and picking mine up. I still use that backpack as I walk to my volunteering jobs Around Vernon. I am so grateful.

We love hearing about the ways our guests have been able to find support and then give back like this!
