Do you have a spot in your backyard, garage or shed full of empty bottles and cans? The Upper Room Mission has a way for you to get those bottles taken care of while also supporting the most vulnerable in our community!
Did you know The Upper Room Mission has a bottle donation center inside our building where we sort, organize and turn your bottles into support for services offered to our guests? Your empties can turn into a nutritious meal, a hot shower, clean clothes or a caring hand to help someone find a better path for themselves.
Donating your cans or bottles to The Mission has several benefits, including environmental sustainability and social impact. By recycling these items, you are reducing waste and conserving resources. Additionally, the proceeds from recycling through our donation center will support those most vulnerable and marginalized in our community.
You may also consider organizing a can and bottle drive within your community to encourage others to get involved and maximize the impact of your donations.
Here are a few bottle drive fundraising tips:
- Set a date that you want to host the bottle drive on and spread the word about your donation efforts through social media, flyers, or word-of-mouth. Encourage others to join in and make a larger impact together.
- Pick how you will collect your donations. Will people drop them off at a central location or will you go to pick up? Decide which option is best for your group.
- Make it fun! Add something fun to celebrate your success and the hard day of work you put in to give back to your community!

Our Bottle Donation Center location is in the Upper Room Mission on 3403 27th Ave, Vernon, BC.
We are open Monday to Friday from 9 am – 4 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 2 pm – 6 pm to accept bottle donations.
