Membership Proxy Vote

Hi there, since you have indicated that you are not able to make it to the Upper Room Mission Special Members Meeting, would you be able to complete the following proxy vote.

Constitution Changes

Our current purposes of the Society

1) To relieve poverty by operating a soup kitchen for individuals or families who are in need.
2) To relieve poverty by providing basic necessities of life, including food and clothing and by providing counselling and outreach programs to individuals and families in need.
3) to advance religion by establishing and maintaining a house of worship with services conducted in accordance with the tenets and doctrines of the Christian faith.

(CHANGE / ADDITION) The purposes of the society addition:

4) to construct, hold, manage and maintain affordable housing for adults and families of low or low and moderate income.
5) to provide emergency support services for families and emergency shelter support services for individuals aged 19 or older who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Bylaw Changes

(CHANGE / ADDITION) Purpose Protection Bylaw.

17.3 Purpose Protection
The Society will not alter or delete the affordable housing purpose set out in its constitution and the Society will not alter or delete this bylaw without first obtaining the written consent of the British Columbia Housing Management Commission.

17.4 Similar Purposes Dissolution
Upon winding up or dissolution of the Society, any funds of the Society remaining after the satisfaction of its debts and liabilities shall be given or transferred to such recognized Canadian charitable organization in British Columbia promoting aims similar to those of the Society as may be decided by members of the Society at the time of winding up or dissolution. The Society will not alter or delete this bylaw without first obtaining the written consent of the British Columbia Housing Management Commission.

(CHANGE / REPLACE) Remuneration Bylaw.
7.2 Remuneration of Directors and Officers and Reimbursement of Expenses Directors may not be remunerated in any capacity. However, a director may be reimbursed for all expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred by him or her while engaged in the affairs of the Society, provided that all claims for reimbursement are in accordance with established policies.
