Christmas Hygiene Campaign
Dignity begins with feeling clean and cared for.

A Season of Change, A Season of Care
This winter, our mission has expanded. With the launch of our dedicated shelter space, we’re now able to provide guests with a safe, warm place to stay through the coldest months of the year. Alongside meals and connection, we’re also offering showers, laundry, and access to clean clothing — essentials that restore dignity and bring comfort to those experiencing homelessness.
While we no longer have the capacity to coordinate our traditional Christmas Backpacks campaign, we’re inviting our community to support us through our Christmas Hygiene Campaign — a vital way to make an impact right here at home.
How You Can Help
This Christmas, your generosity can directly support our Hygiene Program, ensuring that everyone who comes through our doors feels clean, cared for, and respected.
You can help in two ways:
Donate Needed Items:
- Shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, razors, feminine hygiene products
- New socks and underwear
- Laundry detergent pods and dryer sheets
- Towels and washcloths
- Warm gloves, toques, and scarves
Give Financially:
Monetary donations allow us to purchase bulk supplies and respond quickly to ongoing needs throughout the winter months. Donations can be made below, cheques can be dropped off in person, or mailed to the Mission. (please indicate Hygiene Program on your cheque)
Give In-kind:
In-Kind donations can be dropped off in person, or mailed to the Mission. (3403 27th Ave, Vernon BC V1T 1S2)
Why This Matters
Every shower taken, every load of laundry done, every clean pair of socks offered — these simple acts of care make a world of difference to someone struggling this Christmas. By supporting the hygiene program, you’re helping us live out our mission:
To share God’s love by serving those in need with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Join Us in Sharing Warmth This Christmas
Change can be hard, but it can also be beautiful — a sign of growth, hope, and renewed purpose. This season, we invite you to join us as we continue to serve our community in new ways, offering safety, dignity, and love to those who need it most.
Together, we can make this Christmas truly meaningful — one shower, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time.
For many years, our Christmas Backpacks campaign was a beloved community tradition — a way for neighbours to come together and share hope, warmth, and kindness with those in need. This year, as Upper Room Mission continues to grow and adapt to the changing needs of our community, we’re excited to invite you to join us in a new and meaningful way of giving.
