Giving Tuesday—a day when generosity spreads across communities, and every act of kindness carries greater impact. And this year, at the Upper Room Mission, your compassion will go twice as far.

Thanks to a generous group of supporters, every Gift of Rest will be doubled today, up to $15,000.

That means your $50 becomes $100 — providing two full days of rest, warmth, meals, and safety for someone experiencing homelessness here in Vernon.

And for someone walking into our doors cold, exhausted, and overwhelmed, those 24 hours are nothing short of a miracle.

Why Rest Matters First

When a neighbour arrives at the Upper Room Mission, they often come carrying more than we can see: days of fatigue, the sting of winter cold, and the heaviness of uncertainty and fear.

What they need isn’t a long-term plan — not yet. What they need first is rest.

A hot shower that restores dignity.

This 24-hour window of stability is essential before the Plan for their long-term future can even be drawn up.
